Women's Federation for World Peace, USA 17th Anniversary National Assembly

posted Sep 5, 2009, 3:27 PM by Minneapolis Family Church
Dear WFWP, USA members and friends,

I am writing to inform you that the 17th Anniversary WFWP National Assembly theme has been revised to "Human Rights, Women's Rights and Religious Freedom." It will be held on September 18-20, 2009 at the historic Manhattan Center and the New Yorker Hotel.

As an organization of women, WFWP understands that the family is the cornerstone for peace in the world. It is in the family that the next generation is nurtured and raised. As women, we have the concern, passion and responsibility to call attention to injustices as they happen to our parents, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters and friends. Our conference will feature an emerging figure in the call to fight against injustice in all its forms. We will also hold discussions on ways that women's and human rights are protected and nurtured through vibrant, healthy familial relationships. Participants will gain skills and knowledge that will be helpful in raising the emerging generation on the family and community levels.

The impetus for this assembly comes from Rev. In Jin Moon, a woman of peace in her own right, and the daughter of WFWP's founder, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon. The CEO of the Manhattan Center, as well as the founder and senior pastor of Lovin' Life Ministries, she and her husband are successfully raising a family of five exceptional children. She will host the gala celebration on Saturday evening as well as share her insight and wisdom on the assembly theme during the service on Sunday morning.

The assembly will begin with arrivals and registration on Friday, September 18th. The National Assembly will open at 8:30 am on Saturday, September 19th. A full day of sessions will culminate with a Gala Celebration in the evening, where funds raised will go towards WFWP and WFWP's Schools of Africa Project. The Gala Celebration, which is black tie optional, is set to be a wonderful evening that includes dinner, a keynote address, live music, entertainment, a ballroom dancing exhibition, and a silent auction. On Sunday morning, guests will have the special opportunity to attend the Lovin' Life Ministries service.

Attached to this letter, you will find background information about WFWP, conference policies, and a registration form. You may register for this conference online at www.wfwpusa.onefireplace.org. For more information, please contact Nari Stephens, National Assembly Administrative Director, by email at wfwpconference@gmail.com, or by telephone at 203-333-5572.

With warm regards,

Alexa Fish Ward
